He is now an associate director for the Australian, Canada and Europe (ACE) region for one of the world’s largest pharma firms Eli Lilly.[1]
His autobiography states: 'With over fifteen years’ corporate communications experience working in a variety of high-profile and complex organisations such as the BBC, European Commission, HM Treasury and Cabinet Office, I have developed significant capability in leading traditional and social media relations, public affairs, storytelling, change communications, internal communications, stakeholder relations and brand reputation management.' Consultancy firm
In October 2014, he established a consultancy offering freelance strategic communications and public affairs support and advice. Contracts included:
- British pharmaceutical trade body, ABPI. He 'built a story and message house for the organisation and industry on behalf of the CEO';
- Genus plc., a leading global animal genetics and healthcare company based in the UK. He 'completed a project to design a corporate affairs and communications function for the company. This included preparing the company, and strategic partners, for an announcement of a significant technological breakthrough in porcine healthcare using gene-editing technology.' [2]
Pharmaceutical company
He worked briefly with the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations as their Communications Director. His assignment included:
- Transforming communication operations for the trade association leading EFPIA’s communication team:
- Acting as a beacon of best practice and consultant to strengthen EFPIA employee communications; building an understanding of the organisational vision and journey and enhancing engagement and the customer experience with members;
- Improving the communication channels for internal and external communications (eg sharing tools and communication platforms including social media – establishing the new blog PharmaViews.EU);
- Strengthening collaboration with membership for on-going communication campaigns, to contribute to the successful delivery of priorities;
- Delivering strategic communication campaigns to increase the positive impact of the voice of the pharmaceutical industry and improve trust and reputation. [2]
