Laura Swire(nee Chisholm) is a director at PR and lobbying firm Hanover Communications. 'She leads its advocacy team, 'providing strategic counsel on political and regulatory environments, reputation management and campaigning'.
Swire is the daughter of Caroline Chisholm, or Baroness Chisholm of Owlpen, the government's Cabinet Office spokesperson in the House of Lords from 2016.
Revolving door
Swire joined Hanover in August 2008 from financial sector lobbying firm Cicero. She was hired to head up a new advisory service for financial clients. In October 2010 she was the lead for new Hanover client Goldman Sachs.
She is a former lobbyist at HBOS and was head of the home affairs section in the Conservative Research Department, having also worked as an environment desk officer in the shadow Conservative Party cabinet.
She also worked for Carlton Television.
