Pat Glass is the Labour Party MP for North West Durham. [1] She was elected at the 2010 general election in May with a majority of 7,612 votes. [2] In the 2015 election, Glass retained her seat with an increased majority of 10,056. [3]
Glass is parliamentary private secretary for MP Maria Eagle, both when she was shadow secretary of state for the Department for Transport and, more recently, in her current role as shadow secretary for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. [2]
Glass is one of only five Labour members on the Education Select Committee and is said to be the lead opposition member. She is also vice-chair of the All-party parliamentary group for local democracy. [2]
