Robert Goodwill is a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Conservative Party.[1] He represents the constituency of Scarborough & Whitby. He was elected to parliament in the May 2005 General Election with a majority of 1,245 votes. He was appointed Shadow Minister for Transport since 6 July 2007.[2] He was appointed a Government Assistant Whip in 2010, and promoted to Whip in 2012. He was appointed as a Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department for Transport) in October 2013.[3]
In the 2015 election, Goodwill retained his seat for a third term with a majority of 6,200. [4]
He will remain in his role as parliamentary under secretary at the Department for Transport. [5]

Robert Goodwill is a managing director and has controlling interest in Mowthorpe (UK) Ltd. The company operates a green/woodland cemetery on land which was previously part of Southwood Farm, Terrington, in North Yorkshire.[6]
Mowthorpe Garden of Rest is part of the 250-acre Southwood farm at Terrington where the Goodwill family have lived since before 1850.[7]
