Veena Hudson has been the deputy PM Nick Clegg's senior special adviser for Home and Foreign Affairs since July 2013. She has also been a special adviser for Defra, DfT and CLG since January 2012.
She was previously head of media and stakeholder relations at Monitor, the independent regulator of NHS Foundation Trusts (June 2010 – January 2012).
Hudson has also worked as head of public affairs for ACCA; as a parliamentary and government relations adviser for the UK Environment Agency (2005-08); and as parliamentary researcher from 2003-04 for Clegg when he was a European Parliament MEP. [1]
As a special adviser to Clegg Hudson is paid a salary of £65,000 annually. [2]
