When asked by the Wall Street Journal about his interests, Hamilton explained, "I am a director of Jupiter Dividend and Growth, which is a split level investment trust. JDGT is managed by Jupiter Asset Management, who provide financial services. I am not a director of JAM and therefore not in the business of providing financial services". Despite this, in its corporate filings, JDGT classifies itself under the rubric of "financial activities."[2]
