Peter Carroll was the founder of FairfuelUK (FFUK), but he left that position in 2013 to take up a new role as special adviser to chief secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander. [1]
Background
Peter is a highly experienced campaigner. He has led many campaigns across a wide range of issues in the political, private and public sectors. His highest profile work was in The Gurkha Justice Campaign. [2] Peter was a co-founder of the www.fairfueluk.com campaign widely credited with influencing the Government to abandon several successive rises in fuel duty. Peter was also campaign manager for the Independent Candidate for Kent Police & Crime Commissioner Ann Barnes. Mrs Barnes won with a landslide in the November 2012 election. He was special adviser to Mrs Barnes from Nov 2012 through to Nov 2013. [2]
Previous roles also include Founder of Peter Carroll Associates, Director and Part Owner of Astran Cargo Services Limited, International Freight Forwarder. Whilst carrying out all of these jobs, Carroll has also been Liberal Democrats Parliamentary Candidate for Folkestone & Hythe, Maidstone from 1999-2010. [2]

Carroll studied Physics & Electronics at the University of Manchester. [2]
