Sir Anthony Hammond, KCB, QC (27 July 1940) is a retired judge and former legal counsel to Hakluyt.

Career

Having studied law at university, Hammond was called to the bar in 1959 but was unable to practice for two years because of national service. He was sworn in as a full-time judge in 1986 before retiring in 2000.[1]

He has held roles as HM Procurator General and Treasury Solicitor (until 2000)[2], standing counsel for the General Synod of the Church of England (2000-2013)[3] [2] and legal adviser to Hakluyt from 2001 to 2005,[2] before being replaced by Robert Webb.[4]
