W Galen Weston OC, BA, LLD
Galen is the son of Williard Garfield Weston and Grandson of George Weston. He was born in 1940. He received a B.A. and has been awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from the University of Western Ontario. He is a graduate of New College Oxford and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Galen is President of The Garfield Weston Foundation.
He is President and Chief Executive officer of George Weston Limited, Canada's largest privately-controlled food and merchandising company.
He is Chief Executive of Associated British Foods plc.
He is also Managing Director of Westmill Foods, Allied Bakeries and George Weston Foods Ltd (Australia).
He is Chairman of Holt, Renfrew & Co., Limited and Brown Thomas Group Limited. He iss Chairman of George Weston Limited. Galen has been Chairman of Loblaw Companies Limited since 1976 and is the Chairman of [[Selfridges Co Limited]. He is a Director of Wittington Investments Limited. He has been a Non-Executive Director of Associated British Foods plc, since 1964 and a Director of George Weston Limited since 1967 and is Chairman of its Executive Committee. He has been a Director of Loblaw Companies Limited since 1972 and is Chairman of its Executive Committee. He has been a member of the ABF Board since 1999. He served as a Director of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce since 1978.[1]
