The Karimia Institute is a Nottingham-based organisation, located in the Bobbersmill Community Centre, that is focused on encouraging and promoting ‘moral, social and spiritual development through worship, education and recreation’[1].

The Director of the institute is Musharraf Hussain al-Azhari, an advisor to the Quilliam Foundation.

The Karimia Institute hosts ‘two mosques in Nottingham, two Ofsted-registered nurseries, an independent faith school, community centre and community radio station’, known as Radio Dawn.[2]

The Karimia Institute is party to the preventing violent extremism agenda and is in receipt of £100,000 of Prevent Funding under the Community Leadership Fund for the years 2009/10[3] and 2010/11 [4]
