Arik Fraimovich is an Israeli software developer.[1] According to the About Page on his blog, Fraimovich is a consultant for the Israeli Ministry of Defence and a student at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya.[2] He has since stated on Twitter that he no longer works for the Ministry of Defence.[3]

Fraimovich's Facebook friends include Avi Dichter (former Israeli Minister of Public Security and former head of intelligence agency Shin Beth) and Benjamin Netanyahu.[4]

Topify

Fraimovich is a co-founder of Topify, an email notification application for the Twitter social networking service, along with Ouriel Ohayon.[5] he is also involved with another Twitter application, Mr Tweet.[6]

QassamCount

According to Jay Meydad, Fraimovich is the creator of QassamCount[7], a Twitter account which follows rocket attacks on southern Israel from the Gaza Strip.[8]

2009 Iranian election

Fraimovitch is the creator of the website helpiranelection.com, a page created to "Show support for the people who fight for democracy at Iran", aimed particularly at users of the Twitter social networking service.[9]

Challenged by an Egyptian Twitter user about his relationship with the Israeli Ministry of Defence, Fraimovich responded:

a. I no longer work for MOD; b. while I don't like their administration, I do have sympathy for the people.[10]
