The Institute was founded in 1946 and is an association of individuals representing the professions in the wide area of the advertising industry. The objective of the institute is to represent the interests of its members in all types of issues and problems confronting the advertising industry. The institute has approximately 23,000 members. Together with 130 other professional associations, the Institute is a sub-organisation of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce.
