Sweeney was "Head of Central Services" at G4S in the UK from September 2006 to May 2007.
Geo Group UK
Sweeney was a contract director for the Geo Group UK at Campsfield House IRC from May 2007 to April 2010. During 2009 he became centre manager. He had 'overall responsibility for the operational performance of the Centre, ensuring a safe and secure environment of those that live and work there, in line with the contract'. He was the 'youngest appointee as Contract Director by the Home Office in the history of the prison or detention estates'.
