Marie Rimmer has been the Labour Party Member of Parliament for St Helens South and Whiston since May 2015. [1]

Rimmer replaced Shaun Woodward as the Labour parliamentary candidate for the 2015 general election following his retirement. [2] Woodward had served the constituency since 2001, and Rimmer ensured it remained a Labour safe seat gaining a majority of 21,243 in May 2015. [3]

She was appointed to the Justice Select Committee in November 2015. [4]
