Robert Goodwill is a member of parliament (MP) for the UK Conservative Party[1] who has represented the constituency of Scarborough & Whitby since 2005. He has been a junior minister at the Department for Transport since 2013.

Parliamentary career
Goodwill was elected to parliament in the May 2005 general election with a majority of 1,245 votes.
He was appointed shadow minister for transport on 6 July 2007.[2]
When the Conservatives entered government in 2010, Goodwill was apppointed assistant whip, and was promoted to whip in 2012.
In 2013 he became parliamentary under-secretary (Department for Transport)[3] a role he retained after the May 2015 general election reshuffle. [4]
Goodwill retained his seat as an MP for a third term in 2015 with a majority of 6,200. [5]
Outside interests
Robert Goodwill is a managing director and has controlling interest in Mowthorpe (UK) Ltd. The company operates a green/woodland cemetery on land which was previously part of Southwood Farm, Terrington, in North Yorkshire.[6]
Mowthorpe Garden of Rest is part of the 250-acre Southwood farm at Terrington where the Goodwill family have lived since before 1850.[7]
