Lord David Douglas-Home (born 1943) is the son of former Prime Minister Alec Douglas-Home. He inherited the title of the Earl of Home in 1995. He has been chairman of Coutts & Co since 1 June 1999[1]. Home is also the owner of the Mainshill wood where Scottish Coal Company are currently working on a fourth opencast coal mine in the area[2].
He was made a Conservative peer in the House of Lords on the 24 September 1996.
