Career
Barnes started his career as a public affairs consultant at Hill and Knowlton in Brussels, working there from April 1997 until June 2000. He then became a diplomat for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, holding this role from September 2000 to June 2010.
In September 2010, he became a consultant for Hakluyt & Company until September 2012, when he became a partner at Pelorus Research.[1]
