Standard Chartered is a financial services company headquartered in London. It was formed in 1969 through a merger of the Standard Bank of British South Africa, founded in 1863, and the Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China, founded in 1853.[1]
Revolving door
- Ann Grant, former High Commissioner to South Africa, has been Vice Chairman of Standard Chartered Capital Markets Ltd since 2005.[2]
- Paul Skinner, a Non-Executive Director since November 2003, was on the Defence Board since January 2010, which is the highest non-ministerial committee in the UK Ministry of Defence.[3][4][5]
- U.K. Life Peer Ian Stewart, Lord Stewart of Portmoak was Deputy Chairman, Standard Chartered plc from 1993 to 2004.[6]
- Tim Sykes, Non-executive Director at UK Financial Investments Ltd is a former Standard Chartered Treasurer.[7]
- U.K. Life Peer and former Foreign Office Minister Elizabeth Symons, Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean, was appointed an International Advisor to Standard Chartered plc in 2006.[8]
