Background
Ian Liddell-Grainger has been the Conservative Member of Parliament for Bridgwater and Somerset since 2001. He has served on the Select Committees on Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Public Administration, Scottish Affairs and the Environmental Audit Committee.
- His constituency includes the Hinkley Point nuclear power station. With the Bristol Channel on his doorstep, he also has extensive knowledge of alternative energy schemes such as wave and wind power.
- Liddell-Grainger came to Parliament with a background in business, farming and the Army. He established a UK-wide building and property company; ran a 250-acre arable farm; was a consultant to Army Land Command HQ. He remains a Major on the Reserve List. [1]
