Danny Rothschild is the Director of the Institute for Policy and Strategy (IPS) at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya (IDC) and is the Chairman of the IDC's annual Herzliya Conference series on Israeli National Security.[1]

IDF Career

Rothschild served more than three decades in the IDF, mostly in the Intelligence Corps, and served as an assistant to the Chief of Staff. As Deputy Director of Military Intelligence and chief of the Intelligence Research and Analysis Department, he was responsible for strategic intelligence production and analysis during the First Gulf War.[2]

He was promoted to Major-General in 1991, when he was appointed "Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories" directing all civilian affairs in the occupied territories. In that capacity he served on Israeli delegations negotiating with the Palestinians and Jordan.[3]

In 1995, he resigned his commission and co-founded a security consultancy, NETACS (security) Ltd.[4]
