According to an obituary in the Herald:
- Kenneth Munro, who has died of cancer aged 71, was one of that remarkable generation of Glasgow University students groomed for political life in the debating chamber of the university union in the early 1960s: John Smith, Donald Dewar, John Mackay, Meta Ramsay, Neil McCormick, and Menzies Campbell. He followed Donald Dewar as chairman of the university Labour Club and was unsuccessful in his attempt to become MP for Aberdeenshire West in the 1964 general election, when Dewar was successful in Aberdeen South.
