Gareth Robinson, is a former councillor in Castlereagh, Northern Ireland, who runs the public relations business Verbatim Communications.[1]
He is the second son of Peter and Iris Robinson.[2]
Robinson served as his father's parliamentary assistant until his defeat at the 2010 election.[2] He was a member of Castlereagh Council from 2005 until 2013, during which time he served on the council's management team.[2]
Robinson established Verbatim Communications in 2010.[2]
Carl Frampton controversy
In 2014, Robinson was part of a team which brought boxer Carl Frampton to Belfast for a title fight. This led to allegations of a conflict of interest because the event received £300,000 of taxpayer funding.[2]
Justice Minister David Ford later said that Peter Robinson should have declared an interest when asking him about the cost of policing events in the period before the fight.[3]
