Cherie Blair (Cherie Booth) QC is a barrister and the wife of former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Career
Having studied law at university, Blair was called to the Bar in 1976 and appointed a Queens Counsel in 1995. She is a founding member of Matrix Chambers.[1]
Blair is currently the chair of Omnia Strategy LLP and the founder of Cherie Blair Foundation for Women.[2]
Politics
Stood as a Labour parliamentary candidate in Margate in 1983.[3]
Personal life
Cherie met Tony Blair when they were both training at their first chambers. They married in 1980 and have four children together.[1]
- Euan Blair, son. Was considered a possible Labour candidate for Bootle in the 2015 General Election[4] - Peter Dowd will contest the seat instead.[5]
