Alan E. Scholnick

Alan E. Scholnick is the Chief Executive Officer of Friends of the Israel Defence Forces (FIDF). He was appointed to that position in October 2014. Scholnick also serves on the Real Estate Division Executive Council of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

According to Israel News Agency Scholnick 'has been a highly successful entrepreneur and real estate executive, with over 25 years of leadership experience that also includes notable achievements in the finance and aviation industries. He has been deeply involved in Jewish communal life as an active lay leader with multiple national philanthropic and not-for-profit organizations, including AIPAC.'

An attendee at the 2012 AIPAC Real Estate Luncheon Scholnick was at the time listed as an employee of David Landau & Associates (DLA).

Scholnick has explicitly defended the existence of illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories:

For too long Palestinian propaganda has controlled the media and the argument. By calling Jewish villages on the West Bank "settlements," the issue has been framed, reductively, as territorial and presented as an obstacle to peace. Rather, the Jewish neighborhoods on the West Bank raise an obvious minority rights question and as such create an opportunity for Palestinians to demonstrate the legitimacy and moral character of a Palestinian state, not to mention their commitment to peace with Israel... Palestinians must be held accountable by policy makers and the international community to establish real security and minority rights for all its territorial inhabitants, including Jews. In the 21st century, any aspiring state should only be admitted to the community of nations with this kind of guarantee of equal protection for its minorities. The Jews who may choose to remain in their homes within a new Palestine are the canaries in the mine; their survival bears witness to the politi-cal health and human rights of the state which will contain them.
