Revolving Door

  • Sylvia Mathews Burwell, a Director of MetLife and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company since 2004, was Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget in Washington, D.C. (1998-2002). She was Deputy Chief of Staff to President Bill Clinton from 1997 to 1998, and was Chief of Staff to Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin from 1995 to 1997.[1]
  • R. Glenn Hubbard, a Director of MetLife and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company since February 2007, was chairman of the U.S. Council of Economic Advisors from February 2001 until March 2003.[2]
  • General John M. Keane, a Director of MetLife and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company since 2003, was Vice Chief of Staff and Chief Operating Officer of the Army from 1999 until his retirement in October 2003.[3]
  • David Satcher, a Director of MetLife and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company since February 2007, was U. S. Assistant Secretary for Health from 1998 to January 2001.[4]
