Nikuv International Projects Ltd (NIP) was established in 1994 by CEO Emmanuel Antebi, as a subsidiary of the Formula Group, the largest software group in Israel.[1]
NIP works on large Information Technology projects in international markets, primarily governmental sectors. NIP began African operations in 1994 in Nigeria, and has since expanded its activities to Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ghana, Botswana and Angola in IT and additional areas like agriculture and security.[1]
Zimbabwe allegations
In the run-up to the disputed 2008 elections in Zimbabwe, opposition parties accused the company of assisting Robert Mugabe 's Zanu-PF government to manipulate the electoral roll.[2]
In April 2013, Eddie Cross of the Zimbabwean opposition Movement for Democratic Change alleged to the Mail & Guardian that the company is working on the country's electoral roll under the direction of Daniel Tonde Nhepera, the deputy head of the Central Intelligence Organisation.[2]
Nikuv executive Ron Asher told the Mail & Guardian, 'It is election time and people are trying to throw mud from this side and the other side. We are legitimate and professional. We have never been involved in any politics, not now or ever.'[3]
Zambia allegations
In Zambia, the, the United National Independence Party (Unip) accused the ruling Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) of trying to rig the 1996 election with Nikuv’s help.[2]
