The Bloody Sunday massacre took place in Derry on 30 January 1972 when soldiers from the Parachute Regiment opened fire on a civil rights march. 13 people died on the day, and a 14th, John Johnston, died later as a result of his injuries.[1]

  • Lance Corporal J - May have shot one of William Nash, John Young or Michael McDaid. May have shot Alexander Nash.[13]
  • Private G - May have shot Michael Quinn. May have shot Joe Friel. May have shot Jim Wray. Shot Gerard McKinney and Gerald Donaghey.[14]
  • Private H - May have shot William McKinney. May have shot Michael Quinn. May have shot Jim Wray.[15]

Mortar Platoon

  • Lieutenant N - Commander of the Mortar Platoon of Support Company. Probably shot Michael Bridge.[20]
  • Sergeant O - Platoon Sergeant. Commanded vehicle which struck Alana Burke and Thomas Harkin.[21]
  • Corporal P - Shot at least one and possibly all of William Nash, John Young and Michael McDaid. May have shot Alexander Nash.[22]
  • Private Q - Probably shot Michael Bradley.[23]
  • Private R - Probably shot Jackie Duddy.[24]
  • Private S - Inquiry could not eliminate possibility he shot Patrick Brolly.[25]
