Senior Partner in Glasgow-based law firm McClure Naismith, Chrystie graduated from Glasgow University in 1968, completing his PhD in 1972, the same year he became a partner of his law firm. Based in the corporate/commercial department, he is a 'member of various law reform committees (including DTI)'. A specialist in intellectual property law, he is a founder member of The Intellectual Property Lawyers Organisation (TIPLO).[1]
Dr. Chrystie also Murgitroyd and Company as Non-Executive Director, Member of the Audit Committee Member of the Nomination Commitee and Chairman of the Risk Assessment Committee.
Director and Chair of Culture and Sport Trading CIC, Chrystie serves as chairman of The Hugh Fraser Foundation which was established in 1960 by Sir Hugh Fraser with shares in House of Fraser and other investments (with trust funds standing at £31.2m in 2001). The priorities of the Foundation overlap significantly with those of Culture and Sport Glasgow, including the Arts, Social Inclusion, Land, Management Support, Museums & Heritage Centres, Parks and Gardens, Sports, Tourism.[2]
