David Lewis (1924-2011) was the founder of River Island and a 'champion of Zionism'..[1]
"Born David Pokrasse in London in 1924 (the family changed its name to Lewis in 1933) he descended from a family of immigrants from Ukraine on his father’s side and Romania on his mother’s. His father, a fruiterer who had his own greengrocer’s shop, died at a young age leaving his wife to raise four sons single-handedly."
