Nativ, also known as the Liaison Bureau or 'Lishka' for short, was founded in 1952 to foment Jewish emigration from the Soviet Bloc to Israel.[1]
It operated inside the Soviet Union and fomented the 'Soviet Jewry' campaign in the US, UK, France, Italy and other places. In 2007 Nativ was transferred from the Prime Minister's Office to the Ministry of Strategic Affairs under Avigdor Liebermann.[2]
