Donald MacLeod Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, National Semiconductor Corporation Don MacLeod has been Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of National Semiconductor, a $2.0bn Santa Clara-based semiconductor corporation, since 2001. In this position he is responsible for the performance of all of National’s worldwide business units.
Prior to holding that post, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for eleven years. He joined National Semiconductor in 1978 at its Greenock, Scotland, Wafer Fabrication Plant, and from there progressed through various financial and marketing positions in the USA, Germany and the UK.
Don was born in the Isle of Lewis, Scotland and holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Stirling. He is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
Outside work he is also President of the Cupertino Educational Endowment Foundation, which provides supplemental financial support to a school district of 15,000 students, and was a Board Trustee and eventually Chairman of the Financial Executives Research Foundation, a Research Foundation of Financial Executives International from 1993-1999.
