Robert Goodwill is a member of parliament (MP) for the UK Conservative Party[1] who has represented the constituency of Scarborough & Whitby since 2005. He has been a junior minister at the Department for Transport since 2013.

Parliamentary career
Goodwill was elected to parliament in the May 2005 general election with a majority of 1,245 votes.
He was appointed shadow minister for transport on 6 July 2007.[2]
When the Conservatives entered government in 2010, Goodwill was apppointed assistant whip, and was promoted to whip in 2012.
In 2013 he became parliamentary under-secretary (Department for Transport)[3] a role he retained after the May 2015 general election reshuffle. [4]

Goodwill's constituency includes eight oil and gas oil and gas licence blocks, awarded by the Oil and Gas Authority under the 14th licensing round in 2015.
