James George Morris (born 4 February 1967) was elected Conservative Party member of Parliament (MP) for Halesowen and Rowley Regis in the May 2010 general elections [1] with a majority of 2,000.[2] Morris increased that majority to 3,082 in the 2015 general election.[3]
As a result, he stepped down as Chief Executive of the right-wing local government think-tank Localis, a role he had held since March 2008. Morris's old profile on the Localis website gives an overview of his life before politics:

James has been a successful small businessman having established a number of software companies. He also has a strong track record as a policy maker and campaigner as the Director of the innovative campaign group Mind the Gap in 2003. He was appointed CEO of Localis in March 2008.[4]
