Alexander Gauland has been described as a 'elder' of the Eurosceptic party Alternative for Germany (AfD).[1]
He has declared AfD ‘the natural allies' of the anti-Islam PEGIDA (Patriotic Europeans Against Islamisation of the West) movement and said he would attend a demonstration in December 2014[2]
