Theresa Villiers was appointed Northern Ireland Secretary in September 2012.[1]
She was previously worked as the minister of state for the Department for Transport in May 2010.[2]
Villiers has also been the MP for Chipping Barnet since 2003.
History
Villiers was an MEP for London 1999 to 2005. Following on from this, she worked as the shadow chief secretary to the HM Treasury from 2005 to 2007. She then went on to be the shadow secretary of state for transport from 2007 to 2010. [3]
After university, Villiers worked as a barrister and as a lecturer in law at Kings College, London. [3]
