Alistair Carmichael has been the Liberal Democrat MP for Orkney and Shetland since 2001. He is the deputy leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats and was also appointed as secretary of state for Scotland in October 2013. [1]
History
He was appointed Comptroller (HM Household) (Deputy Chief Whip, House of Commons) in 2010.[2] He was appointed Secretary of State for Scotland in October 2013.[3]
In July 2007 he was appointed Liberal Democrat Northern Ireland and Scotland Spokesman. [1]
