The National Domestic Extremism Unit (NDEU) was created in 2011 through the merger of the National Public Order Intelligence Unit(NPOIU) and the National Domestic Extremism Team (NDET).[1]
The NDEU is a national policing unit, under the Specialist Operations business group of the Metropolitan Police Service under lead force governance arrangements.[2]
