Hubert H. Humphrey Jr. (1911-1978) was a US Senator for Minnesota from 1949 to 1964 and Vice President of the United States from 1965 to 1969. He ran unsuccessfully for President in 1968. He returned to the Senate in 1971, where he served until his death.[1]
