Dexia Group is a listed Belgian-French banking company headquartered in Brussels. Founded in 1996, it focuses on Retail and Commercial Banking in Europe, on Public and Wholesale Banking, providing local public finance operators and asset management.


Record and Controversies

Revolving Door

  • Augustin de Romanet de Beaune, a board member since 2007, was chief of staff to the deputy budget minister and assistant chief of staff of the French Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry. From 2004 to 2005, he was chief of staff of the Minister of Employment, Work and Social Cohesion and assistant chief of staff to the Prime Minister and assistant secretary general for the President.[1]
  • Bruno Bézard, a board member from 2008 to 2009, held a number of positions in the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industry, and is also a former Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister. He is currently Managing Director of the Agency for State Equity Investments.[2]
  • Jean-Luc Dehaene, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dexia SA since 2008, is a Belgian MEP and was Belgium Prime Minister from 1992 to 1999.[3]
  • Serge Kubla, a Director since 2005, is a Belgium politician who was Walloon Minister of the Economy 1999-2004 and has been Deputy and Leader of the MR Group to the Parliament of Wallonia since July 2004.[4]
  • Koen Van Loo, a Director since 2003, was appointed an Advisor to the Belgian Minister of Finance in November 2000, and was then Cabinet Leader from May 2003 until November 2006.[5]
  • Alain Quinet, a Director from 2008 until the end of 2009, was appointed as economic advisor of the French Prime Minister in 2002, and in 2005 became Deputy Head of Economic Matters in the Prime Minister’s Office.[6]
