Gavin Poynter is somewhat associated with the anti-environmentalist and pro-corporate LM network, being a trustee of Global Futures, one of the first fifty signatories to the Academics For Academic Freedom petition and a speaker in a 2004 Institute of Ideas event.[1]

As of May 2010 the Global Futures page on the Charity Commission website gives the trustees as Philip Roy Mullan, Gavin Poynter, and Daniel Ben-Ami.[2]
