Background
SRF was formed in 1996. It is the main renewables trade association and lobby group for Scotland and is closely linked to the British Wind Energy Association.
It promotes Scotland as an ideal location for renewable energy development and espouses
- a vision of the “win-win” potential of renewables to create jobs and prosperity for Scotland, as well as safeguarding the environment, to encourage the adoption of targets and strategies which make the best use of our indigenous resources.[1]

Similarly to the British Wind Energy Association its extensive list of members range from small renewables companies to large energy companies with some renewables, and also includes Universities, banks, large construction companies, financial services firms, government agencies and NGO's. [2]
