Yesodey Hatorah Girls School is an independent Orthodox Jewish day school for girls aged 4–11 at 153 Stamford Hill, London N16 5LG. It opened as a separately registered school on 1 September 2019 (DfE “new provision”; registered March 2020 after a pre-registration inspection). The proprietor named on GIAS and Ofsted is Rabbi Chaim Pinter; the headteacher is Mrs Rebecca Deutsch. GIAS records Orthodox Jewish ethos. Capacity 810; about 474–488 pupils on recent inspections. Morning Kodesh, afternoon secular subjects. No website. Email office@yhsl.org.uk; telephone 020 8800 8612.[1][3]
Which dynasty?
None as proprietor. Yesodey Hatorah is a Pinter-family, pan-Charedi Stamford Hill institution, not a Satmar, Belz, Vizhnitz or Ger court school.
The wider Yesodey Hatorah system was founded in 1942 (Rabbi Pardes; then taken over by Rabbi Shmelke / Samuel Pinter). It was built as the first large Haredi school in the neighbourhood when few court-specific schools existed. Abraham Pinter later said Satmar, Belz and others opened their own schools afterwards; Yesodey remained the cross-community campus. The senior girls’ department on Egerton Road became the first Charedi school with voluntary-aided status (2005); Tony Blair opened the new building. That VA school draws “from all sections of the Haredi community.”[4][5]
Chaim Pinter is of that family (chair of the boys’ Yesodey Hatorah School proprietor body; trustee of Yesodey Hatorah Trust 1103911 and Yesodey Hatorah Nursery). Neighbours at the same stretch of Stamford Hill include court schools (Beis Ruchel D'Satmar London, Lubavitch). This girls’ primary serves the same multi-court catchment the Pinters have always claimed: Satmar-majority Stamford Hill, plus Belz, Vizhnitz, Bobov and others who do not have a girls’ place in their own cheder.
Do not collapse it into Satmar because Satmar is the largest local court, or into the 2018 textbook-redaction story, which attached to the state-aided senior girls’ school (URN 133599), a different legal person and site.
Ofsted
The April 2019 pre-registration visit judged the proposed school unlikely to meet all independent school standards. It was nonetheless registered and inspected as Good in October 2021 (first standard inspection) and again Good in June 2025 (behaviour and personal development Outstanding in 2025).[2][6][3]
