Background

West Cumbria Managing Radioactive Waste Safely Partnership (Westcumbria:mrws) was set up by three West Cumbria county councils (Allerdale, Copeland and Cumbria) to look into the feasibility of locating an underground nuclear waste repository somewhere in the region. A public consultation with local communities ran from 21 November 2011 to 23 March 2012.

  • Osprey Communications - acts as communications adviser to the Westcumbria:mrws. Its work has included strategic communications advice, media relations, an advertising campaign, organising public exhibition stands, producing a DVD and producing a live ‘Question Time’ style webcast. [2]
