Vadim Blumin is an Israeli rabbi, historian, and activist in Jewish education and civil society, currently serving as executive director and head of the Jewish Agency for Israel's delegation to the UK and Western Europe.[1] Born in Dnipro, Ukraine, he 'made Aliyah' (became a settler colonist) to the Zionist entity, where he has held various roles promoting Zionist ideology, Jewish identity, and immigration to the settler colony.[2] Blumin is an award-winning author of an Israeli bestseller on history for children and has been named one of Israel’s ‘Top 30 Executives’ and “Person of Year 2024”.[1]
His work emphasizes building bridges within Jewish communities, often through programs that reinforce connections to the 'Jewish State'.
Early life and family
Blumin was born in Dnipro, Ukraine, during the Soviet era.[1] He made 'Aliyah' to the Zionist colony and was raised there.[3] He resides in Ramat-Gan with his spouse Roman and their daughter Danielle, though currently on shlichut in London with his family.[2]
Education
Blumin is a historian and recently ordained rabbi.[3][1] He is an alumnus of the GVANIM program for pluralism and leadership, as well as the JDC-ELKA Mashmaut training program for Directors-General of Voluntary Organizations.[2]
Career
Blumin has devoted his career to Jewish education, civil society, and Zionist activism.[3] He served as Executive Director of the nonprofit “1+1: Association of Immigrant Youth” and headed the Jewish Agency for Israel’s Education Department in St. Petersburg, Russia, and the northwest Russia and Baltic states.[2] He later became Content & Training Specialist at Makōm, The Strategic Content Lab of the Jewish Agency for Israel.[2]
As of 2026, he leads the Jewish Agency for Israel's delegation to the UK and Western Europe, overseeing initiatives for "Aliyah" (the Zionist term for settler colonialism) and strengthening Diaspora ties to the settler colony.[1] He is also a board member of the New Israel Fund UK and 'Be Free Israel' ('IsraelHofsheet'), and a member of the Content Committee for Limmud-FSU.[2][4]
Involvement in the Zionist movement
Blumin is deeply involved in the Zionist movement through his roles at the Jewish Agency for Israel, where he promotes immigration to the Zionist entity and fosters Jewish resilience and identity programs.[3] He is one of the founders of the '1.5 Generation – Russian-speaking Young Adults' initiative and has spoken on Russian Aliyah stories, Zionism from historical perspectives, and leadership in dark times at events like Limmud and YLD.[2][5] His work includes leading workshops on psychological first aid and participating in seminars like "Identity Works: The Jewish Resilience Fellowship".[3] These activities normalize the settler colony and embed pro-Zionist narratives in Diaspora communities.
