Stephen Millett was a CIA counterintelligence officer who served as an aide to James Angleton in the 1950s. he was responsible for the CIA's Israel desk, and also for running Jay Lovestone as an agent.
According to the Washington Post, "IN MAY of 1986, friends of Stephen Millett gathered in Washington for a memorial service for the late CIA officer, who was so secretive The Washington Post didn't run his obituary because Millett wouldn't let his family say what he did for a living."
