In the news
- In February 2026 the First-tier Tribunal (Tax Chamber) allowed an appeal by Newpier Charity Limited, whose trustees since 1991 have included Charles and Rachel Margulies, against HMRC closure notices. The tribunal found that disputed payments were loan repayments, not non-charitable expenditure.[6]
