RSe Consulting is a consultancy company that says it was established "to provide strategy consultancy services to Local Authorities and other public sector agencies".[1] It states:

We work exclusively with the public sector and do not have any financial relationships with solution providers, which means that we are focused solely on giving the best and most appropriate advice to our clients.[2]

People

Directors

  • Guy Mallison is RSe's Managing Director. In his consulting role, he focuses on helping our clients become more customer focused: understanding what customers want, need and expect, and designing and delivering services to meet those needs. Guy is also our practice expert in children's services. He spent his early career in strategic consulting in the private sector, helping multinationals grow, often through building more effective relationships with their customers.
  • Sir Michael Bichard has worked throughout his career in the public sector – twenty years in local government and nearly ten in central government. He was Chief Executive of Brent and Gloucestershire local authorities and in 1990 became Chief Executive of the Government's Benefits Agency. In 1995 he was appointed Permanent Secretary of the Employment Department and then the Department for Education and Employment. Michael received a Knighthood in the Queen's Birthday Honours 1999. In 2004 he was appointed by the Home Office to chair the Soham/Bichard Inquiry and in 2005 he became Chair of the Legal Services Commission. Michael joined RSe as Non-Executive Chair in 2003.
  • Chris Hall joined RSe with almost a decade of private sector consulting experience delivering major IT programmes for companies like British Airways, BAE Systems, ICI and Jaguar Cars. Chris leads our growing technology practice and has worked with all types of local authorities and partnerships across the country on problems such as web strategy, infrastructure architecture, IT governance and project portfolio management, service continuity, ITIL and information management.
  • Sangeeta Ranade is currently on maternity leave.
  • Ben Rowland began his career in regeneration and economic development. He co-founded RSe with Alexander Stevenson in 2001. He has been instrumental in the growth of the company, its reputation and its impact. Ben led our work to develop our Vision of Excellence and is now leading on Smart Resourcing and Capacity Building. He has directed some of our most innovative projects, such as our work to design and deliver Leicestershire's 101 service and the Warwickshire Direct Partnership's Capacity Building programme. Ben is a trustee of Toynbee Hall where he chairs the SAFE Steering Group and sits on the board of Transact.
  • Sue Spencer is our Director of Operations. As a qualified HR professional (MCIPD) she has held managerial posts in a private sector strategy consultancy, a European FMCG retailer, an ex-local authority careers service as well as having acted as a legal and strategic advisor and a new project development manager for a major UK homelessness charity.
  • Alexander Stevenson left the Financial Times Group to co-found RSe. At the FT he worked on strategy with senior management teams across a range of different business. This included the strategy for the £100m relaunch of FT.com which he then helped implement. Alexander has led projects in all areas of RSe's work but specialises in Smart Resourcing
