Poyry is an energy consultancy. In February 2014 it published a report claiming that the UK's 'nascent shale gas industry will die without an overhaul of the planning system'.

Pöyry circulated its findings last week to the House of Lords economic affairs committee, which is holding an inquiry into fracking. In a 2012 report, Pöyry predicted shale gas production would begin by 2014. It now says planning delays and public opposition make production unlikely to start before 2020. [1]
