Voted against action in Syria
In 2013 Dr Lee voted against Britain's involvement in any military action in Syria in response to the chemical weapons attack. He explained that it was 'one of the most hardest decisions I have taken', but that 'the situation not just in Syria but across the whole of the Middle East is too important to make our response up as we go along' - 'we must have is a thought-through strategy towards Syria and the wider region before we get involved'.
