Phil Boswell
Phil Boswell was elected as the Scottish National Party (SNP) member of parliament for the constituency of Coatbridge, Chryston and Bellshill in the May 2015 UK general election. [1]
Boswell defeated his closest rival and the previous Labour Party MP for the area Tom Clarke.
In an election which witnessed the rise of the SNP, Boswell was just one of many Scottish Nationals who gained considerable voter support. He received 57 per cent of the vote and a majority of 11,501 overturning a previous Labour majority of over 20,000. [2]
